Hayman, the most northerly island of the Whitsundays in the Great Barrier Reef, commands magnificent views south across the Coral Sea. Hayman is 400 hectares (960 acres) in area and 8 kilometres (5 miles) in circumference. The resort is situated on a crescent shaped beach and is the only facility on the island.

Hayman provides unique culinary indulgences. The resort boasts fabulous restaurants and bars plus a lounge, and hosts evenings with the Chef in the main kitchen. Guests can also dine in special outdoor island settings or in the Reef surrounds.

Evening

Dining is presented by acclaimed chefs in superb restaurants, which are non-smoking and open selected evenings.  Meals can also be enjoyed within guest rooms, at a Chef’s banquet, or in other resort locations. Sunset cocktails and supper are served nightly.

Daytime

Breakfast is served overlooking the Hayman Beach, while light meals and a bar service are available daily by the beach and pools, in a lounge and within guest rooms. Gourmet hampers can be prepared for resort and Reef adventures.

Elegant La Fontaine

Elegant La Fontaine offers a formal, yet relaxed atmosphere - a sense of grand occasion - created by a combination of soft and rich tonings and romantic lighting amid Louis XVI furnishings, Waterford crystal chandeliers and a magnificent central limestone fountain. Guests are treated to an exquisite selection of authentically prepared modern French cuisine utilizing the best in local and international produce. The cuisine is matched by La Fontaine wine cellar's impressive range of over 750 vintages from the world's premier vineyards and musical accompaniment from Hayman's resident pianist.

Private Dining Room

A Private Dining Room, seating 14 and adjoining La Fontaine, is available for exclusive use. Guests can design a special meal in consultation with the Executive Chef or select from a superb a la carte menu. The dinner setting is of Regency Mahogany with appointments including a dome ceiling painted in 23-carat gold, Waterford crystal chandelier, 17th Century French marble fireplace, 19th Century bronze firedogs and paintings from the Heidelberg School.

La Trattoria

Al fresco home-style Italian and Mediterranean dining in La Trattoria is enjoyed in a rustic indoor and outdoor setting of local timbers, hand beaten chandeliers, hanging vines and terracotta tiles. Famous for its spectacular antipasto displays and piping hot pizzas,  La Trattoria's lively village atmosphere is enhanced by dance music from the resident band.

Oriental

Specialties of traditional Asian cultures are prepared with innovative flare at Oriental, overlooking a ceremonial tea house, which can seat 10 guests for a private dinner, and tranquil garden filled with rock pools and waterfalls. Dining platforms, each seating 4 guests, are scattered among exquisite gardens and provide a unique setting for dinner. Inside, Oriental is adorned with antiques and artefacts including 18th Century screens, copper lamps and a happy Buddha.

Azure

The day starts in Azure with a bountiful buffet breakfast overflowing with tropical fruits, juices, all things healthy and some of life's indulgences. Azure is also open selected days for lunch and refreshments indoors or on the fabulous outdoor deck

Overlooking the Hayman Beach and beyond to the Whitsunday waters and neighbouring islands, in the evening Azure presents Australian contemporary cuisine from an open show kitchen, specializing in fresh seafood, in an indoor and outdoor setting.

The Chef's Table

This weekly event, hosted by one of Hayman's premier chefs, takes guests behind the scenes into the Main Kitchen for a 6-course banquet with matching wines and includes a visit to the famous La Fontaine wine cellar and Chocolate Room

The Beach Pavilion

Lunch is a relaxing affair in The Beach Pavilion, by the Hayman Beach and Lagoon Pool. This outdoor setting enjoys warm tropical breezes and features a selection of seafood, meat dishes and salads. A poolside service offers light refreshments throughout the day.

Sunset cocktails are served each evening in this beautiful location.

The Club Lounge

The Club Lounge offers relaxed, quiet surrounds for light meals and soothing refreshments throughout the day and relaxing drink or late night supper during the evening.

Hayman Pool Bar

After a refreshing swim in the famous Hayman Pool, guests can order an appetising snack and refreshing beverage during the day in this very special setting.

Gourmet Hampers

Hayman can create a wholesome hamper of guest favourites for a day's outing… perhaps a boat cruise, picnic on the beach or island walk.

Complimentary tours, conducted by the Hayman team, include an educational Garden Tour of the lush landscape, Guided Island Walk into bushland to lookouts and beaches, and Kitchen Tour of the vast food preparation areas, Chocolate Room and acclaimed La Fontaine Wine Cellar. Guests can also learn the secrets of cocktail mixing and join regular culinary classes.

Hayman presents resort living in 244 beautifully appointed rooms, suites, penthouses and a villa, situated in Pool, Palm, Lagoon and Beach Wings, all featuring private terraces or balconies.

The Pool Wing, comprising Pool Superior and Deluxe rooms and Pool Suites, overlooks the famous Hayman Pool and tropical gardens. Level 3 also offers views out to the Coral Sea and neighbouring Hook Island. This wing is ideal for guests wishing to be close to and enjoy views of the icon pool.

The Palm Wing, comprising Palm Superior rooms, is centrally located in the resort with excellent access to all facilities.

The Lagoon Wing, comprising Lagoon Superior and Deluxe rooms, Lagoon Suites and 11 Penthouses, overlooks the tranquil lagoon, tropical gardens and Lagoon Pool. Level 3 and 4 - the latter housing the resort Penthouses - also offer views out to the  Coral Sea and neighbouring Hook Island. The Penthouses offer butler service and use of the Penthouse Lounge. This wing offers larger rooms and suites than those in the Pool Wing.

The Beach Wing comprises Beach Front rooms and a private Beach Villa fronting Hayman Beach, and Retreat Rooms set back from the beach in tropical gardens. This wing is ideal for couples wishing to stay in boutique accommodation in tranquil surrounds.

French Penthouse: Classic Louis XVI and contemporary furnishings blend successfully in the elegant three-bedroom  French Penthouse. Its stylish, understated decor depicts clear, sunshine colours, reminiscent of a villa in the south of France. Beautiful pieces include a 19th Century French marble fireplace, Venetian gilt mirror and pair of Louis XVI lamps.

English Penthouse: Designed in the style of a grand English country home, the two-bedroom English Penthouse is filled with the fresh colours of springtime, exquisite furnishings and antiques. The buttercup yellow and primrose blue floral design of the pure wool carpet, is echoed in a yellow stripe wallpaper with twist pattern border detail.

Lagoon Penthouses: The one and two-bedroom Lagoon Penthouses reflect a relaxed resort feel, featuring soft, natural textures, cool marbles and rich, warm woods. A large balcony is furnished with an outdoor teakwood setting.

Oriental Penthouse: Modern Japanese design sits easily among exotic treasures in the one-bedroom Oriental Penthouse. Pure wool Belgian carpets and raw silk wall coverings make a rich backdrop for fascinating antiques. Earthy shades of Jim Thompson silk are used for the bedroom upholstery. Chocolate silk scatter cushions lie on cream velvet settees and armchairs.

Italian Penthouse: The cool, clean lines of a Tuscan villa are recreated in the one-bedroom Italian Penthouse. All rooms share a light, airy feeling and have buff pink sandstone floors, stencil-finished walls and fine antique furnishings. Italian lemon silk is used generously in the bedroom on bed and furniture coverings.

Moroccan Penthouse: A Moorish influence prevails in the one-bedroom Moroccan Penthouse with the brilliant colours of the sea, a focal point. Against a rich backdrop, rare 19th Century pieces from North Africa inlaid with mother of pearl, ebony, ivory and silver wire, include a writing desk, wall mirror and smokers tables.

Queensland Penthouse: The relaxed ease of life in the tropics is reflected in the one-bedroom Queensland Penthouse. Hand-made timber furniture and the vibrant colours of the Great Barrier Reef, provide a rich backdrop for colonial collector pieces and a specially commissioned painting by leading Australian artist, Patrick Hockey.

Greek Penthouse: Reminiscent of a cliff-top villa overlooking the Mediterranean, the one-bedroom Greek Penthouse combines the warmth of terracotta with natural materials and fabrics. Grecian style and elegance predominate in the classic design of the living and dining areas, contrasted by the earthiness of rough rendered white walls and heavy timber doors.

Beach Villa: Situated on the Hayman Beach, overlooking the Coral Sea. This magnificent villa is unlike any other accommodation on Hayman, offering contemporary stylish beachfront living blending soft sand and marine hues, local timbers, woven rattan and natural furnishings. Features include concierge service, enclosed courtyard, outdoor deck with refreshing plunge infinity pool, refreshment bar, 42" plasma screen television and state of the art sound system. A large bathroom features a double vanity, frameless glass shower and centrepiece bath plus personalized bathroom amenities.
